Most probiotics give you bacteria and leave it there. METABOLISM pairs Bifidobacterium lactis at 10 billion CFU with polydextrose, a prebiotic fibre that acts as food for beneficial bacteria. Probiotic and prebiotic together is the more complete approach, and it's why the formula has both.
B. lactis is one of the better-documented strains in consumer probiotics, with a role in supporting a normal balance of gut flora.
